The commonwealth games often called the friendly games it has a unique place of sporting history. It is an international multi-sport event like the olympics, Except the athletes are for the commonwealth countries. This Includes countries like New Zealand,Pacific Island,england

The First games were held 1930 in hamilton, Canada.Eleven countries sent four hundred athletes to compete in six sports and fifty nine events. Since then the games have been held every four years. However in 1942 and 1946 the games have been cancelled because of the second world war.

The event had many changes, even its name.From 1930 to 1950 the games were known as the british empire games.Later,from 1970 until 1974 they took the title from of british commonwealth games.Finally, at the 1978  games in Edmonton Canada, this multi sport event changed its name to the Commonwealth games.

My holiday highlight

Wow ! you’ll never guess what I did in the second week of the holidays?  

If you want to know you’ll have to keep on reading.

It all started on a sunday morning, Iwoke up as early as I could to go watch t.v, So off I went tiptoeing past my mum and dad’s room and  into the living  room and then grabbed the t.v remote. Suddenly I heard a bang of a door, it was just my Sister. She is just three years smaller then me, her name is Zaeeda. So me and Zaeeda started to watch tv, it was funny because me and zaeeda both liked the same TV show, it ‘s called Teen Titans. Befor teen titans was on telly, Secret Mount Fort was on the t.v, and So we watched it, at that moment suddenly we both went quiet. Then we both saw the door open and it was just my little sister.

After a while my mum woke up so we turned off the t.v. and went to brush our teeth. Then my dad woke up and he went to brush his teeth, then we all got dressed and went shopping at sylvia park it was cool. We brought cool things like mega tail looms, and other things.

Afterwards we went home and I went in my room and made a mega tail in pretty colours. I loved my school hoilday, but most of all I missed my friends !

1. Why do you think people want to be a part of a triathlon? Because they want to give it  try  or maybe they might want to do the tryathlon for fun.

2. Why do you think the author chose this title? because the tryathlon the one that involes’ kids, you only give it a try

3. How do you think ‘tryathlon’ got it’s name when it is usually spelt ‘triathlon’?  I think it is because it is for kids to try something new and give it a try.

4. What three sports are involved in a triathlon?  Swimming, Biking, The last one is Running.

5. How many kilometres will the girls travel combined? 10K.200M

6. Think about how the event is organised… How does each member know  when to begin their

part of the race?  How the members know when it is there turn is when they get tagged.

7. How do you think the girls are feeling at the end of the events?  They feel Happy prowed and most of all amazed.

8. What is the difference between a ‘tryathlon’ and a ‘triathlon’? Tryathlon means that you are or we are just trying, but Triathlon means you are serious focused on winning the gold meda
